First Paper Strucutres Championship

Durant el primer trimestre els alumnes de 3r i 4r d’ESO han estat creant unes estructures fetes de paper amb la finalitat d’aguantar el màxim de pes possible.

El passat divendres 14 de desembre els alumnes d’ESO es van reunir al gimnàs per fer una competició. Aquesta competició es tractava d’anar posant pes sobre les estructures, fins que s’ensorressin. Es va començar amb 30 diccionaris i es va passar a posar un alumne, un professor, una taula i 4 alumnes sobre la taula.

Moltes d’elles encara aguantaven de peu, així que es va passar a fer-hi salts a sobre. La primera estructura va aguantar quatre salts i les altres tres en van aguantar sis. Per escollir el guanyador final, els professors i professores que feien de jutges van examinar el disseny de les estructures i donant el premi de guanyador al grup de “l’estructura erecte”.

During the first term, the students of 3rd and 4th of ESO had been creating paper structures. The objective was to be able to hold as much weight as possible.

The Friday 14th of December all the students from ESO went down to the gym to watch the competition. The point of this competition was to keep adding weight on top of the structures to see which one was stronger.

Some structures were strong and didn't break when we put weight on top, however, the weaker toppled over.  As we hadn't found a winner yet, we went on to jumping on top of them.

One of the structures broke after four jumps and the other three broke after six jumps. To choose the winner, the judges (the teachers) examined the design of these three structures to choose a winner.

In the end, the group "l'estructura erecte" won.
